Terms of Service
The rules for using Spood, including accounts, App Store purchases, acceptable use, and liability limits.
Effective date: 16 July 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Spood iOS app and related website content (together, the “Service”), operated by indie developer Erik Hindr (“Spood”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By downloading, accessing, or using Spood, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Spood helps you track personal spending with envelope budgeting, categories, subscriptions, savings goals, statistics, and related tools. Features may change over time as we improve the product; we aim to keep the core experience stable.
Some features may require a free account and/or a paid subscription. Availability can vary by region and device.
3. License to use
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Spood on Apple devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial budgeting purposes, in accordance with the App Store terms and these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service except to the extent such restrictions are prohibited by law.
4. Accounts
You may need an account to sync data or use certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
You must be old enough to consent to these Terms in your country of residence (and at least 13 years old).
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Misuse the Service, attempt to access other users’ data, or interfere with security or availability.
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purposes.
- Abuse promo codes, referrals, or entitlements, or attempt to bypass purchase or access controls.
- Scrape, overload, or reverse engineer the Service beyond what applicable law allows.
6. Subscriptions and purchases
Paid plans and in-app purchases are billed through Apple’s App Store under Apple’s terms and payment policies. Pricing, trial periods, and renewal terms are shown in the app and/or App Store listing at the time of purchase.
Manage, cancel, or request refunds for App Store purchases through your Apple ID / App Store account settings, subject to Apple’s rules. We do not control Apple’s billing systems.
Promotional or referral codes may grant temporary or other access as described at redemption. We may modify or end promotions at any time, unless a specific offer states otherwise.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of the budget data and other content you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to provide and improve the Service (for example syncing across your devices).
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter. Spood is a tracking and organization tool; it does not verify bank balances or replace official financial records.
8. Not financial advice; disclaimer
Spood is provided for personal budgeting and informational purposes only. It is not financial, tax, investment, accounting, or legal advice. Decisions you make based on the app are solely your responsibility.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Spood and Erik Hindr will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.
Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim (if any) or (b) EUR 50, except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law (including mandatory consumer protections).
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have as a consumer under mandatory laws of your country of residence that cannot be waived by contract.
10. Termination
You may stop using Spood and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or if we discontinue the Service.
Upon termination, your license ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law) will survive.
11. Apple App Store terms
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Spood, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Spood. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation for Spood; any claims relating to the app are between you and Spood (subject to these Terms). Apple is a third-party beneficiary of this section and may enforce it.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date. Material changes may also be noted in the app. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence may still apply.
If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally.
