Terms of Service

The rules for using Spood, including accounts, App Store purchases, acceptable use, and liability limits.

Effective date: August 7, 2026

1. Who we are

Spood ("the App") is provided by Erik Hindr, a sole trader (OSVČ) registered in the Czech Republic, IČO 23749199, registered in the Trade Licensing Register (živnostenský rejstřík). Contact: support@spood.app. Our full registered address is published on our App Store product page as required by EU trader transparency rules under the Digital Services Act.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the App. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using the App, you represent that any information you provide is accurate and complete.

4. Description of the service

Spood is a personal budgeting tool that lets you plan spending by category ("envelopes"), track expenses and income you enter, set savings goals, and view spending statistics. The App does not connect directly to your bank accounts and does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

5. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete Account), or by contacting us. This permanently and irreversibly deletes your data, subject to the retention periods described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Subscriptions and payments

  • The App offers a free tier and an optional paid subscription ("Spood Pro") with additional features.
  • Subscriptions are purchased and billed entirely through the Apple App Store. For customers of Apple Distribution International Ltd., Apple is the merchant of record for these purchases — Apple charges your payment method, handles applicable taxes, and processes refunds according to Apple's own policies, not ours.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings on your device.
  • If you believe you were charged in error, please contact Apple support (reportaproblem.apple.com); we are not able to issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves.
  • We may change subscription pricing for future billing periods; you will be notified via the App Store as required by Apple's guidelines.

7. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you generally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason, under Section 1829 of the Czech Civil Code (implementing EU consumer protection law).

However, because Spood Pro provides digital content/services that begin immediately upon purchase (unlocking Pro features right away), this right of withdrawal ends once performance has begun, provided that: (a) you have given your prior express consent to immediate performance, and (b) you have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, in accordance with Section 1837(l) of the Czech Civil Code. Where you purchase through the App Store, this consent and acknowledgment is presented as part of Apple's standard purchase flow; for any purchase or renewal made directly through us (if applicable), we will request this consent separately before granting access.

8. Promo codes and referrals

  • Promo and referral codes may grant temporary or permanent access to Pro features at our discretion.
  • Codes have no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or other consideration.
  • We may limit, modify, suspend, or revoke codes or associated rewards at any time, including after redemption, if we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, or a violation of these Terms.
  • Each code may only be redeemed once per account unless stated otherwise.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, other users' data, or our systems
  • Attempt to guess, brute-force, or abuse promo or referral codes
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App's normal operation
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose

10. Your content

You retain ownership of the financial data and other content you enter into the App. We process it only to provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. No financial advice

Spood is a budgeting and organizational tool provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and no fiduciary relationship is created between you and us by your use of the App. Calculations, summaries, and projections shown in the App are provided as a convenience and may contain errors; you are solely responsible for verifying figures and for your own financial decisions.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. We do not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any calculations or summaries it produces are free of mistakes. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain implied warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to financial decisions made based on information shown in the App. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury, or any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.

15. Complaints and out-of-court dispute resolution

If you have a complaint, please contact us first at the email above so we can try to resolve it directly. If you are a consumer in the Czech Republic or the EU and we are unable to resolve a dispute, you may contact the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Praha 2, coi.cz) for out-of-court dispute resolution, or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to conflict of law principles. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you also retain any mandatory consumer protections provided by the law of your country of residence, which these Terms do not override.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app before they take effect. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

18. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@spood.app.
